chinese love

"love, this english word: like other english words it has tense. 'loved' or 'will love' or 'have loved'...love is a time-limited thing. not infinite...in chinese, love has no tense. no past and future. love in chinese means a being, a situation, a circumstance. love is existence, holding past and future."
a quote i found on julia allison's blog...
i think the chinese way is so much more meaningful. once you've loved someone, how can you take that back? they hold part of your heart that you'll never have back (unless you had a pensive, and could extract their memories, ha). they know things about you that you can never take back. you may not be IN love with them anymore, but you'll always love them, and love the time that you spent with them. then again, i can think of people i don't love anymore that i once loved. all i know is that i love love!
