dear brook, from tomorrow brook

as so often occurs in my daily life, i check my email after hours. this, of course, occurs in the comfort of my own sweatpants and crazy hair, but nonetheless has made itself a habitual action in my dull life.

today, i decided to check my email as i had a few very important ones that i was expecting to show up. to my surprise, i found that i had received messages from the future! yes, the future in fact had contact me in the form of electronic mail, and i couldn't have been happier. here is proof (and yes, i send myself emails):
this did, however, cause me to think a little about what tomorrow's brook really would say to today's brook. maybe something along the lines of...
  • get enough sleep. i don't want to drag all day!
  • you'll be over him in the morning. soooo not worth the overanalyzing and headache and boring your parents and friends to tears about every single detail.
  • please exercise!! because you know it's not going to happen today! (saturday/sunday brook is almost always busier than week-day brook)
  • accomplish something worthwhile, you slacker!
  • hey soul sisteeeeer la la la....(okay tomorrow brook probably wouldn't say that to today brook but LOVEEE that song!)
so i guess what i'm trying to say is maybe think about what you wish to accomplish today, and then just do it! there are some things that we may not have control over, but we do have control over most every thing else....
"You pile up enough tomorrows,
and you’ll find you’ve collected a lot of empty yesterdays"

I have had this happen to me at work. It's pretty trippy, especially if you send messages then try to search for them.

You're back! You have one happy reader right here.

Soon you'll start getting faxes from yourself, from the future, like Dwight. I loved doing this to mom at work when I was bored at work, easy entertainment.

I'm listening to Soul Sister RIGHT NOW! LOVE IT. Do you have your Google Buzz and Blog posts synched? Because I swear I read this already on Google Buzz.

Does this mean I will not get a call from Brook tomorrow because she has figured out today? I am so glad you are back. This is the only reading I get aside from church literature and I had missed it!

I email myself too :) So true--why stress about the things we can't control? Just work on the things we can and go with the flow. Often easier said than done, though!
